April 4th, 2009 Rattlesnake Rodeo

Well, every year Opp, AL a little town, holds the Rattlesnake Rodeo. It is a festival that is fun for family, has concerts, booths, games, food...and RATTLESNAKES. They are pictured below in the cages. They draw a circle about the same size as a garbage can and then a huge circle around it and let about 8 snakes out in the middle circle and have a race to see which snake gets to the outside circle first. All the while these snakes are really pissed and ready to strike. A few months before the rodeo, people go out and hunt the snakes and then get pd to turn them in. They use some for meat that they sell, YES, I ATE RATTLESNAKE... Me and Alex didn't really care for it, but Breyna loved it!!!!!!!!
